To safeguard its reputation, Kwong Cheong Thye adopted AccessReal’s authentication system, supported by Pin Press’s secure printing expertise to produce two-layer variable QR code labels that make each product uniquely traceable and verifiable.
The Challenge
Counterfeiting remains a major challenge for brands exporting to China.
Traditional single-layer QR codes are easily duplicated, leaving consumers uncertain of product authenticity.
Kwong Cheong Thye required a solution that would deter counterfeiters, empower consumer verification, and maintain the brand’s visual identity across international markets.

Two-Layer QR Code Authentication
Layer 1 directs consumers to the brand’s official authentication page, confirming they are on a legitimate verification platform.
Layer 2 provides a one-time authentication confirmation, instantly verifying the product.
The Level 1 QR also records scan frequency — repeated scans may indicate suspicious duplication attempts.
If a Layer 2 code is scanned a second time, the system flags it as already verified, warning users of potential counterfeit activity.

Secure Variable Data Printing
Labels were produced using Pin Press’s secure Variable Data Printing (VDP) process, where each QR code is unique and traceable.
This process integrates seamlessly with the AccessReal platform, enabling real-time monitoring of scan data without disrupting production flow or label design.
